My first wax casting

Well, this was very fun! I enrolled in a metalsmithing class and tried my hand at carving a ring from wax. They sent it off to a caster and it came back in sterling silver.
Sorry I didn't bring my camera to class with me or I could have documented the process. Maybe next time!
Of course I had to oxidize it and polish it with the satin buffing wheel. It's just my thang.
I don't plan to sell this ring...but if someone was really interested in having one, I could send it out and get more made. I think it's maybe a size 5 1/2?

how fun! you did a great job! I remember my first lampwork class - learning to make all kinds of glass beads. Exploring art and the creative process is such a thrill! love the ring!

Teach me! I'd love to cast, but it's so costly---I think I'm just going to keep aiming for a kiln.
