Coronary Coral
Thank you to my friend and devoted SToNZ customer Jan, for suggesting the name for these great coral finds. I just got home from a week on Longboat Key, where I discovered all sorts of wonderful coral washed up on the beaches. I am looking forward to incorporating many of my finds into SToNZ jewelry in the coming months.
We happened to be there over Valentine's Day, so it was particularly apropos to come across these fun specimens!
I have used coral in my work before and it brings to mind the importance of saving our endangered coral reefs. To learn more click here.
Did you know that in Australia there is a coral reef shaped like a heart? See this blog for 9 cool gigantic hearts from above.

These are wonderful! Reminds me of finding heart shaped rocks of all sizes covering a beach on an island we kayaked to in Resurrection Bay. It became a popular beach location for weddings and now has a lodge there. I LOVE finding heart shaped rocks, the coral is even more beautiful :o)
